Meet the Brain Behind the Operation

From Passionate to Professional!

My love of words and reading began at a young age, and I’ve been catching mistakes and inconsistencies for years while reading for fun. Taking the plunge and becoming a professional editor has been the best decision I ever could have made.

I mean, come on! I get to play with words for a living!

In addition to the countless writing and grammar books that I’ve read (See? I’m a huge word nerd.), I’ve also completed courses by Edit Republic, including High-Level Proofreading And Copyediting Pro , The Art of Line Editing, and I am always looking for new opportunities hone my skills as an editor and proofreader.

I’ve been writing since I was four, constantly telling stories, and spending a lot of my time forcing people to read my chicken scratch. Now, I am a self-published poet with multiple WIPs pending. Maybe it’s my AuDHD brain, but I am constantly asking questions and brimming with content ideas, so after taking some time away from writing in the non-creative space, I am excited to get back to producing content for others.

In my free time, I can be found writing in one of my many WIPs, reading a great book and , falling in love with the characters, watching action movies, having unnecessarily deep conversations about random topics, listening to music at high volume at all times and grooving, or mindlessly scrolling on Tik-Tok. Muddled Ink: The Origins

A bit dramatic? Of course! I’m a writer

Let’s take a look back at 2018, shall we?

To put it bluntly (as is my style!), 2018 saw me drowning in a job I hated, a house I hated, and surrounded by people I … you get the point.

I needed something to change desperately, so Google became my best friend. My creativity had been suffering and needed an outlet, so I started there. I’d heard about this thing called freelancing from another creative and my interest was piqued.

From there, I dove down the rabbit hole and didn’t crawl out for weeks as I took courses and created a place for me in the freelancing space.

While in college, and working towards a degree in Communications I really didn’t want, I was the go-to for editing and revising student’s essays, no matter the class or major. I am really good at it and I genuinely enjoy it, so it only made sense for me to throw in my obsession with reading fiction and try my hand at being an official editor.

Thus, the first version of this business was created with nervous hands. I was just a girl with a laptop, a really cringey business name we won’t speak about, an ugly website, and a dream.

It wasn’t long at before I secured my first contract editing romance novellas for a popular publisher, sending my confidence and excitement soaring.

(It was truly impossible for me to shut up about it! I am convinced my friends half-way hated me for a bit there.)

From there, I embarked on the trial and error journey of building an editorial business that could last and be a true resource to my fellow writers. A jump, skip, and a huge leap to early 2023, and we rebranded! Muddled Ink Services was born with a brand new website, an ever-growing client list, a TikTok account, the addition of content writing services, and a blog!

Here at Muddled Ink Services, words aren't just tools; they are the building blocks of captivating narratives, whether it be for fiction books or digital content. Our goal is to help women writers, content creators, and bookish or creative entrepreneurs elevate their writing and produce high-quality content they can be proud of.

It’s been an honor to do just that for the last 6+ years! Here’s to many more!

Full Transparency: I have a goofy and slightly unhinged passion for words, writing, and storytelling that I don’t believe in hiding for the sake of professionalism. I AM a professional editor and writer who does a damn good job, and I also want to make you laugh while I do it.

Sue me.
